Sweet Mission began with a simple belief: where someone starts should never decide where they finish.
When our founder, Jason Mercado, stepped off a Greyhound bus in Santa Ana, California, he had just $5 in his pocket and no clear path forward.
But he knew how to bake!
While staying at the Salvation Army shelter, Jason began searching for a kitchen to make his delicious cookies. When he could not afford to rent one, he created his own opportunity, offering to clean a local kitchen in exchange for the chance to use it.
Those cookies became his way forward.
Today, Sweet Mission makes delicious cookies with an even sweeter purpose. Every order supports our mission to create jobs and fresh starts for people rebuilding their lives after homelessness, incarceration, or addiction.
